A crypto casino accepts deposits and pays withdrawals in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin or the stablecoin USDT. Almost all of them hold licences from outside the European Union, mainly Curaçao, Anjouan or the Tobique Gaming Commission, because EU-licensed casinos work under payment and anti-money-laundering rules that make crypto hard to offer. That licence choice affects your protection and, in several countries, your tax.
This guide sorts the crypto casinos in our directory by licence, explains networks, fees and identity checks, and sets out what the EU’s crypto rules mean for a casino deposit sent from an exchange. Brand facts come from each casino’s terms and payment pages, last checked by us in October 2026.

Which licences do crypto casinos hold?
Crypto casinos in this directory hold Curaçao, Tobique or Anjouan licences. None of the Malta- or Estonia-licensed brands we list accepts cryptocurrency. EU licensees must follow strict customer-identification and source-of-funds rules, and their banks and payment partners are wary of crypto flows, so the market has split: fiat rails for EU licences, coins for offshore ones.
| Brand | Licence | Licence holder | Crypto and fiat | Main exclusions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BitStarz | Curaçao OGL/2024/165/0185 | Gareton B.V. | Both | US, UK, France, Spain, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland and others |
| mBit Casino | Curaçao OGL/2024/1307/0748 | Scores55 Tech B.V. | Crypto only | US, UK and others |
| Stake | Curaçao OGL/2024/1451/0918 | Medium Rare N.V. | Crypto, some local fiat | 44 countries plus Ontario |
| 7Bit Casino | Tobique 0000091 (most visitors) | Saphirix Solutions SRL | Both | US, UK, France, Spain, Netherlands, Mexico and others |
| Koru Casino | Tobique 0000002 | Novatrix SRL | Both | US, UK, Israel, Poland, Netherlands and others |
For what each licence means in practice, see Curaçao-licensed casinos and Tobique Gaming Commission casinos.
How does a crypto deposit work?
You copy a deposit address from the casino cashier, choose the matching network, and send coins from your wallet or exchange. The casino credits your balance once the transaction has enough confirmations on the blockchain, which can take from seconds to an hour depending on the coin and network. Sending a coin on the wrong network, for example USDT on Ethereum to a Tron address, can lose the funds for good.
- Open the cashier and select the coin, then the network (for USDT this may be Tron, Ethereum or another chain).
- Copy the address with the copy button or scan the QR code; never type it by hand.
- In your wallet, select the same coin and the same network, paste the address and check the first and last characters.
- Send a small test amount first if it is your first deposit.
- Wait for confirmations; the casino shows the deposit as pending until then.
| Coin | Typical use at casinos | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin (BTC) | Most widely accepted | Network fees rise when the chain is busy; confirmations take minutes |
| Ethereum (ETH) | Widely accepted | Gas fees on the Ethereum network can be high for small deposits |
| Litecoin (LTC) | Cheap, fast deposits | Fewer casinos accept it than BTC |
| USDT (Tether) | Popular stablecoin pegged to the US dollar | Several networks; choose the one the cashier names |
| Dogecoin (DOGE) | Small deposits | Price moves sharply |
Stablecoins or Bitcoin?
If you do not want your balance to rise and fall with the market while you play, a stablecoin such as USDT keeps the value roughly fixed in dollars. Bitcoin and other volatile coins add a second gamble on top of the casino game: a win can shrink if the coin falls before you cash out, and a loss can grow. Some casinos display balances in a fiat currency while holding your coins, which hides this effect; others keep the balance in the coin itself. Check which before you deposit.
Withdrawals, fees and identity checks
Crypto withdrawals are fast once approved: the transaction is broadcast to the blockchain and arrives after confirmations. Approval is the step that varies. BitStarz’s terms say it aims to pay withdrawals within an hour where possible. Many casinos pass the network fee to you or set a minimum withdrawal per coin. “No KYC” is never guaranteed: under their licences, casinos can and do ask for identity documents before larger withdrawals or when their risk checks flag an account.
| Question | Where to find the answer |
|---|---|
| Minimum withdrawal per coin | Cashier or payments FAQ |
| Network fee charged to you? | Help centre or withdrawal screen |
| Daily or monthly withdrawal cap | Terms and conditions |
| When identity checks apply | Terms: KYC or verification clause |
| Whether bonuses lock withdrawals | Bonus terms |
What do the EU crypto rules mean for a casino deposit?
If you buy coins at an EU exchange, two EU laws follow your transfer. The Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA, Regulation (EU) 2023/1114) has applied in full since 30 December 2024, with transitional periods for existing firms ending by 1 July 2026; it licenses exchanges and wallet providers, not casinos. The Transfer of Funds Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2023/1113), the “travel rule”, has applied since 30 December 2024: providers must send sender and recipient information with crypto transfers, and for transfers over EUR 1,000 to or from a self-hosted wallet they must assess whether the wallet belongs to you.
In practice your exchange may ask who owns the destination address, or refuse transfers to gambling sites under its own policy. Sending coins first to your own wallet and from there to the casino is common, but the exchange may still ask what the coins are for. Answer truthfully; misleading a regulated provider can get your account closed.
| EU rule | Applies to | What you notice |
|---|---|---|
| MiCA (Reg. 2023/1114) | Crypto exchanges and wallet providers | Licensed EU exchanges, white papers for coins, stablecoin rules |
| Travel rule (Reg. 2023/1113) | Transfers via crypto-asset service providers | Questions about wallet ownership above EUR 1,000 |
| DAC8 | Exchanges reporting to tax authorities | Your EU exchange reports your transactions from 2026 |
Crypto, gambling and tax
Two tax questions arise, not one. The first is the gambling question: whether your country taxes casino winnings, which often depends on whether the casino is licensed in the EEA. Crypto casinos licensed in Curaçao, Anjouan or by Tobique fall outside it, so in countries such as Finland and Sweden that exempt EEA gambling, their winnings are generally taxable. The second is the crypto question: in many countries, spending a coin, or using it as a bet, counts as disposing of it. Sweden’s tax agency, for example, treats using a cryptocurrency as a stake as a disposal, with any gain since purchase taxable as capital income. Our page on tax-free casino winnings covers the gambling side.
Keeping records of crypto play
Crypto makes record-keeping harder, because the value of every deposit and withdrawal depends on the price on the day. Keep a simple log from the start: date, coin, amount, network, transaction hash and the value in your home currency at the time. Download the casino’s transaction history at least once a year as well. If your tax office ever asks how a coin balance arose, or a casino disputes a missing deposit, the transaction hash settles the question, because anyone can look it up on a public block explorer.
| Record | Where to get it |
|---|---|
| Transaction hash (TXID) | Your wallet or exchange history |
| Value in your currency on the day | Your exchange statement or a price archive |
| Casino deposit and withdrawal IDs | The casino transaction history |
| Network used | Your wallet history and the casino cashier |
Provably fair games
Some crypto casinos run their own games, often called originals, that use a “provably fair” system: before each round the casino commits to a hashed server seed, you add a client seed, and afterwards you can check that the result followed from those inputs. Stake publishes its method for games such as dice, crash and plinko. Provably fair proves that a result was not changed after your bet; it does not change the house edge, which is built into the payout table.
Crypto bonuses, worked through
Crypto welcome offers are quoted in coins, which makes them look larger or smaller than they are as the price moves. Two of our brands show the range.
| BitStarz | Koru Casino | |
|---|---|---|
| Headline | 100% + 180 free spins, then up to EUR 400 or 4 BTC over 3 deposits | Up to EUR 15,000 + 350 free spins over 4 deposits |
| Wagering | 40x the bonus | 50x |
| Time limit | Bonuses valid 7 days | Bonuses valid 7 days |
| Crypto extra | Crypto and fiat treated alike | 5% wager-free bonus on crypto deposits |
| Best for | Players who want a classic match | Players who deposit crypto regularly and skip the match |
A 5% wager-free crypto bonus means that a deposit of 0.01 BTC adds 0.0005 BTC you can withdraw without play-through, which is small but genuinely free. A match with 40 or 50 times wagering adds more playable money but ties it up in a week of play.
Red flags at crypto casinos
- No licence seal, or a seal that does not open the regulator’s validator.
- Terms that name no company, no registration number and no licence number.
- Promises of “no KYC ever” or “anonymous withdrawals of any size”.
- Bonus terms that cap withdrawals of all winnings, not only bonus winnings.
- Pressure to deposit more to “unlock” a withdrawal. A genuine casino never asks you to pay to receive your own money.
- Support that suggests a VPN to get round a country block.
Is a crypto casino right for you?
A crypto casino makes sense if you already hold and understand cryptocurrency, your country is not on the casino’s restricted list, and you accept an offshore licence with ADR rather than an EU regulator behind it. If you want an EU licence, our MGA casinos use bank and card payments instead; compare methods in the payment methods hub. Limits and self-exclusion matter even more with fast crypto deposits: see responsible gambling. Every brand and licence is on the directory front page.
Frequently asked questions
Which licence do crypto casinos usually have?
Mostly Curaçao, Tobique or Anjouan. The crypto casinos in our directory hold Curaçao licences (BitStarz, mBit, Stake) or Tobique licences (7Bit, Koru). None of the Malta- or Estonia-licensed brands we list accepts cryptocurrency.
Are crypto casinos anonymous?
No. Licensed crypto casinos can ask for identity documents, especially before larger withdrawals, and EU exchanges must follow the travel rule when you send coins. Treat any promise of “no KYC ever” as a warning sign.
What happens if I send crypto on the wrong network?
The funds may be lost. Always choose the coin and the network shown in the casino cashier, copy the address with the copy button and send a small test amount first.
Is USDT better than Bitcoin for casino play?
USDT keeps its value roughly pegged to the US dollar, so your balance does not move with the crypto market while you play. Bitcoin adds price risk on top of the game. Check which networks the casino supports for USDT.
Do EU crypto rules affect casino deposits?
Indirectly. MiCA licenses exchanges and the travel rule makes them send sender and recipient data; for transfers over EUR 1,000 to a self-hosted wallet, they must check who owns it. Exchanges may also block gambling transfers under their own policies.
How fast are crypto casino withdrawals?
Once the casino approves a withdrawal, the coins arrive after the network confirms the transaction, often within minutes. The wait is usually the approval step, which depends on the casino’s checks; BitStarz says it aims to pay within an hour where possible.
Do I pay tax on crypto casino winnings?
Often yes, for two reasons: crypto casinos are licensed outside the EEA, which removes the EEA exemption some countries grant, and using a coin as a stake can be a taxable disposal. Check your own tax authority’s guidance.
